¡§In Australia, we look at Hong Kong as three different markets. Firstly, as a consumer market in its own right where its 6.8 million people have a high per capita income for all sorts of consumer goods. Secondly, as a platform to enter China and partnering with Hong Kong companies who have the contacts and expertise to go into the China market.
What we see in the future is a great demand in China for various types of businesses Australia can offer. Thirdly, as a showroom for Greater China. Many people in China, Taiwan and Singapore look at trends in Hong Kong and seek to follow them. We need to establish branded products in Hong Kong first and let others see what we are doing. This will stimulate awareness and smoothen our paths to enter the markets.¡¨
