Japanese high-tech firm Origin Electric Company has established a regional head office in Hong Kong as a platform for maximising business opportunities in the Chinese mainland and Asia-Pacific markets.

General manager of Origin Hong Kong Satoru Maeshima said the move would facilitate a closer relationship with the company’s major customers who were increasingly basing their manufacturing operations in the mainland.

``Origin is delighted to be doing business in Hong Kong. Our office will be the base of our mainland sales activities and serve as a logistical hub for our expansion in this high-growth region.’’

Founded in Japan in 1938, Origin’s core business is electronics technologies. It also provides power supplies to a variety of communication equipment businesses and industrial plants, as well as making specialised equipment.
