Japanese high-tech firm Origin Electric Company has established a regional head office in Hong Kong as a platform for maximising business opportunities in the Chinese mainland and Asia-Pacific markets.
General manager of Origin Hong Kong Satoru Maeshima said the move would facilitate a closer relationship with the companyˇ¦s major customers who were increasingly basing their manufacturing operations in the mainland.

Founded in Japan in 1938, Originˇ¦s core business is electronics technologies. It also provides power supplies to a variety of communication equipment businesses and industrial plants, as well as making specialised equipment.
First listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange 40 years ago, the company now employs around 1,000 people and plans to establish a manufacturing base in the Chinese mainland.
