Hong Kong Disneyland's Adventureland will transport guests to a tropical landscape with jungles, clinging vines, waterfalls and exotic flowers
Hong Kong Disneyland is to have the largest exotic "jungles" of all Disneyland Parks worldwide, according to vice-president and executive producer of Walt Disney Imagineering, Tom Morris.

The "jungles", known as Adventureland, will form one section of the Hong Kong Park and represent an escape into the remote jungles of Asia and Africa.

"Adventureland is a mysterious, shady, tropical place," said Mr Morris. "Guests can feel the rush of an active river, erupting geysers and beautiful waterfalls. It will be a showcase of some of the most spectacular trees and plant life ever assembled in one place."

Adventureland will feature a 25-metre Banyan tree house unique to Hong Kong Disneyland, a Jungle River Cruise and a whole island devoted to the "King of the Jungle". Adventureland will also feature a weather-and-light-controlled 2000-seat theatre, one of the most technically advanced venues in any Disney park, for the staging of live entertainment.

Executive designer Tim Delaney said that unique features had also been designed for Hong Kong Disneyland's Tomorrowland, focusing on space and space travel.

"We have taken a whole new approach to Hong Kong Disneyland's Tomorrowland, creating an entire land that becomes an intergalactic Spaceport dedicated to the wonders and experiences of space travel. This Tomorrowland has a completely new look and feel from any of our other parks," said Mr Delaney.

Tomorrowland will feature one of the most popular Disney rides, Space Mountain, as well as a new ride - Orbitron, a 21-metre high space attraction where guests can pilot their own flying saucer.

Mr Morris said that some designs of Adventureland and Tomorrowland were based on the advice of a fung shui expert.

Hong Kong Disneyland is expected to attract 5.2 million visitors in its first year and will create 18,000 jobs.
