Hong Kong will host more than 40 international trade fairs from June to October

The lifting of the travel advisory on Hong Kong was welcomed by overseas buyers, many of whom were reporting dwindling inventories. "Overseas buyers have been waiting for this moment," said Benjamin Chau, Director of Exhibitions at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

"Buyers have told us how keen they are to get back to Hong Kong. Many of them have inventories that are running low, and Hong Kong is their trade fair destination of choice for competitively priced, quality goods," said Mr Chau.

Overseas buyers and exhibitors rely on the professionalism and quality of Hong Kong's trade fairs, he added. "We have a full programme ahead of us and we know that people are keen to catch up for lost time."

TDC has joined with Cathay Pacific Airways and major hotels to offer unbeatable discounts for overseas buyers. "We are determined to offer the best possible market place for business, coupled with the best possible travel deals," said Mr Chau.

Mr Chau reaffirmed that TDC trade fairs would retain the stringent hygiene measures for upcoming events, including temperature checks and extra cleansing - that it used at its April houseware, gifts and premium fairs. "We contacted all the people who came to the show and we are pleased that there have been no reports of ill-health," he said.

Upcoming trade events include the SME Market Day from 5 to 7 June, Hong Kong Fashion Week from 8 to 11 July and an additional Houseware, Gifts & Premium fair from 23 to 26 July.
