| Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa accepted the resignations of Antony Leung and regina Ip. |

Financial Secretary Antony Leung and Secretary for Security Regina Ip tendered their resignations on 16 July. Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa accepted both resignations and issued the following statement:
"During his tenure as Financial Secretary, Mr Leung has devoted his best efforts to revitalising the economy of Hong Kong. In particular, he has made important contributions in tackling the deficit, restructuring the economy, concluding the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement between the Mainland and Hong Kong and relaunching Hong Kong after the SARS outbreak. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Mr Leung for his service and wish him every success and happiness in the future."
On Regina Ip, Mr Tung said: "Since I became the Chief Executive, I have worked with Mrs Ip closely and have been able to appreciate her immense abilities and enthusiasm to serve the Special Administrative Region. Her colleagues and I will miss her greatly. I wish her great success and happiness in the years to come."
