The event, now in its fourth year, brings together members of 28 Hong Kong business associations from around the world. The forum, which takes place from 28 to 29 October, is the Federations key annual event and offers members the opportunity to meet new and existing business contacts and to update themselves on the latest developments in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. At this year's event, guest speakers from government and business, will share their experience on developing and expanding successful businesses in China and the Asia-Pacific region. The Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement, or Cepa, will feature strongly in the discussions as members look to seize the opportunities the new free trade deal offers to Hong Kong companies and their overseas partners. The Forum also features tailor made visits to Shenzhen, and to Zhuhai and Zhongshan, the two key cities on the west side of the Pearl River Delta. With plans moving ahead rapidly for a bridge linking Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai, the Forum gives members a chance to stay ahead of their competitors in accessing new business opportunities in this area. Major events keep international business travelers busy Other major events happening in October include a series of major international trade fairs. Thousands of overseas visitors are expected for the annual Hong Kong Electronics Fair, electronicAsia, the Hong Kong Lighting Fair and the Asia Pacific Leather Fair. In November, Hong Kong is hosting the 3rd Annual Supply Chain Management (SCM) CEO Summit, themed "Partnerships for Success" (17-18 November). December will bring a creative feast to Hong Kong in the form of the Hong Kong Design Centre's Business of Design Week 2003, supported by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Innovation and Technology Commission under the Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau.
