TDC Chairman Peter Woo: updating European SMEs on opportunities in Hong Kong and PRD

In response to increased interest in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta, Trade Development Council Chairman, Peter Woo, will visit Europe and the US in November to talk at a series of events designed to help overseas SMEs develop and expand their China business.

Under the theme: "Hong Kong & Shenzhen: Your winning formula for success in China", the Hong Kong Trade Development Council is joining forces with the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Invest Hong Kong and representatives from Hong Kong and Shenzhen's business community.

Mr Woo's first stop will be Brussels, where he will meet with members of Belgium's business community and European government officials. Over lunch, he will update guests on business developments in Hong Kong.

The next stage takes him to Paris and Cologne. In both cities he will meet with leading business and government representatives, before giving the keynote address at two half-day seminars, targeting local SMEs.

The European leg of Mr Woo's trip will culminate in a two-day visit to London where he will again update local SMEs on Hong Kong opportunities, before hosting the annual TDC dinner, at which guest of honour, Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa, will give the keynote address.

Following the dinner, Mr Woo will travel to New York to represent Hong Kong at the Hong Kong US Business Council plenary session meeting.
