Leading provider of international travel systems sets up Asian base (15/12/2003)

Airplus International, a leading provider of international travel management and corporate payment systems recently launched its regional headquarters in Hong Kong with an eye on expansion to the Chinese mainland.

Its managing director Patrick W. Diemer said Hong Kong was selected as their Asian base because it is a regional financial and business hub and for its proven financial and legal systems.

"As the travel market is growing rapidly in China we see great potential in developing business in the SAR also because of its gateway position. The official launch of our Hong Kong office represents one more decisive step in the creation of a global Airplus International network," added Mr Diemer.

The key product of AirPlus International is an innovative travel payment system that imports data from travel agencies, online booking tools and existing corporate card payment systems - offered by companies such as Visa and MasterCard - to better manage travel expenses across the entire company.
