Korean cosmetic brand dodo club recently opened its first shop in Hong Kongusing the city as a showcase to further develop the Chinese mainland marketand as a window to expand in South Asian markets.

Located in Kowloon, the new dodo club shop is the first Korean cosmetics shopin Hong Kong. The company plans to open more shops in the city during the nexttwo years. 

According to the CEO of dodo club, Park Jong Boong, the company sees greatmarket potential for cosmetics products in Hong Kong among youngerconsumers who have good spending power and demonstrate high receptivenessto new brands.

"Our strategy of cost control on advertising and promotion allow us to sell ourquality products at reasonable prices. Our direct logistics system between retailnetworks and the head office also reduces operation costs. We are confident thatdodo club's nature-friendly skin care products and colourful make up productswill become market leaders in the middle-low priced cosmetics market," said MrPark. 

Established in 1989, dodo club is a subsidiary of one of the leading cosmeticsbrand in Korea, dodo company. Dodo club currently runs more than 30 shops inKorea and plans to expand the retail network with up to 100 shops in Korea. 

The company will leverage Hong Kong's excellent geographic location at thecentre of Asia and its unrivalled business-friendly environment to expand thenetwork to neighbouring export markets in South Asia, including Thailand,Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. 

Acting Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong, SimonGalpin, in welcoming dodo club to the retail capital of Asia, said the continuingninbound tourism market provided cosmetic brands an ideal platform to showcasetheir products to target markets in the mainland and Asia.
