Andigilog, a semiconductor provider, announced that the company has opened a regional office in Hong Kong to serve its Asia-Pacific customer base and facilitate the production of components in Asia.

Located in Hong Kong Science Park, the new office, Andigilog International Limited, will also base digital design and development efforts in Hong Kong to complement their analog design and development operations based in the US.

The CEO of Andigilog, Bill Sheppard, explained the reasons for the company's decision to establish an office here. "As our customer base continues to expand, establishing a regional office in Hong Kong allows us to remain close to our Asia Pacific customers in the PC and cell phone markets; manage production located in Asia; and expand our engineering capabilities. In the Hong Kong Science Park, we can develop products as well as support sales and marketing efforts," he said.

At the opening ceremony, the Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong, John Rutherford said Andigilog's strategic move to place its digital design and development efforts in Hong Kong "demonstrates its confidence in our highly skilled local force."

"In Hong Kong, high-tech companies like Andigilog have access to the full range of human resource skills, including in sales and marketing, customer service, IT and product development," added Mr Rutherford.

Founded in 1996, Andigilog is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona. The company develops highly accurate, low power, analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits manufactured on mature digital CMOS process technology that leverages economies of scale. The company's SiMistor(tm) product line of silicon thermistors recently was awarded the EE Times' Ultimate Product Award.

Invest Hong Kong is the Government agency charged with encouraging and facilitating foreign investment into the city.
