Cliftons managing director and owner, Andrew Cameron, said Hong Kong was the natural choice. "We aim to develop our training facility model within this market by sharing our experience and knowledge, while exploring further opportunities throughout other Asian markets. With Hong Kong's first-class infrastructure and central Asian location, Cliftons will be able to grow within the region by reacting to and developing the market with flexibility, experience and expertise," said Mr Cameron. Cliftons currently operates two training centres in Hong Kong - the new facility in Taikoo Place and an existing one in Central, which was the company's first venture into the Asian market. The General Manager (Asia) of Cliftons, Lee Castle, commented: "Clients are impressed with the 'total package' approach to the facilitation of corporate education. Once both of our current Hong Kong facilities are up to speed, we expect there to be enough local market to warrant a third Hong Kong centre, after market analysis to determine the exact location." Mr Castle also said that from its Hong Kong base, the company is exploring further expansion opportunities in other markets, including the Chinese mainland. The acting director-general of investment promotion at Invest Hong Kong, John Rutherford, said Clifton's expansion "has demonstrated our city's position as the ideal launch pad for foreign businesses to expand into Asia." Established in 1997, Cliftons now offers over 130 training rooms within nine facilities throughout Australasia. Cliftons currently has well-established centres in Australia (Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth) and New Zealand (Auckland). | |||||||||
