One of the world's largest management software companies, Computer Associates International, Inc (CA) recently announced the establishment of its Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) headquarters in Hong Kong.

The New York-based company aims to increase its presence and market penetration in the region.  The creation of a management 'hub' will further enable the company to implement and streamline its overall strategy and reporting structures for the regions of Greater China, ASEAN and India, Australia and New Zealand, Korea, and Japan.

The South China Morning Post reports that the move comes 20 years after CA first set up a business in Hong Kong, one of its earliest outposts in Asia.

According to the daily newspaper, chief operating officer Jeff Clarke, said the move was a strategic "multi-million dollar investment" that would help the firm achieve "double-digit growth in the region for many years to come."

Founded in 1976, CA is present in more than 100 countries.
