| Lighthouse shines across the world ( 01/02/2006 ) | |||||||||
Founded in 1998, and headquartered in Hong Kong, Lighthouse is a member of Gold Peak Group, a US billion dollar company listed on the stock exchanges of Hong Kong and Singapore. In just a few short years, Lighthouse's superior quality LED screens have won major international awards, and been selected for key installations worldwide - among them Samsung's flagship advertising site in London's Piccadilly Circus, and international airports including Hong Kong, Dubai, Amsterdam and Germany. Lighthouse has also become the screen of choice at Formula One racetracks around the world. Lighthouse conducts its R&D in Hong Kong Science Park, which incubates business in a range of high-tech areas, and manufactures in a self-owned, state-of-the-art factory at Huizhou in the Pearl River Delta, China. This business model is a winning combination, said Mark Chan, managing director. Ideal global hub
"The human capital resources available to us in Hong Kong are a cornerstone of our success," Mr Chan said. In addition to the depth of its professional talent, Hong Kong makes an ideal hub for Lighthouse's sales worldwide. "We produce big ticket items, and Hong Kong's business infrastructure - including leasing and finance - gives us a tremendous advantage. Its logistics efficiency means we can move things around quickly. And we can leverage Hong Kong's international reputation, where the rule of law and secure international property give confidence to our overseas buyers." Having a Hong Kong base is also important for brand recognition, Mr Chan continued. "Image reflects on our brand equity. Hong Kong is part of the international business network, and it follows international trade conventions. Global customers respect that." In just eight years since its inception, Lighthouse has become one of the three most recognised video screen brands in the world. Its products have won several international design awards, among them the IBC Exhibition Design Award 2005, Best New Product Award at the National Association of Broadcasters show in 2002, Buzz of the Show Award at InfoComm 2004 in Atlanta, the Technological Achievement Certificate of Merit in the 2003 Hong Kong Awards for Industry, as well as the prestigious Consumer Product Design Award and the HKITCC Certificate of Merit in Technological Achievement in the 1999 Hong Kong Awards for Industry. Lighthouse was also recognised as one of the Fastest Growing Technology Companies in the 2002 Deloitte Technology Fast 250. Quality production Backing up its design expertise is quality of production. Lighthouse's 17,000 square metre factory in PRD's Huizhou, has received several international accreditation awards, including the ISO 14001 certification for environmental excellence. Mr Chan described this latest accreditation, announced in January, as an important milestone for the company. "It validates that Lighthouse's products are manufactured to the highest environmental standards, and demonstrates our continued commitment to quality for our customers and partners." Lighthouse Technologies operates worldwide, through sales offices and technical support teams in the US, Canada, South America, UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. | |||||||||
