Travellers can enjoy the finest gourmet seafood at Caviar House & Prunier, Hong Kong International Airport |
Prestigious caviar and smoked salmon specialist Caviar House & Prunier has made its Asia Pacific debut by opening a luxury Seafood Bar at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).
Caviar House & Prunier is a leading global gourmet brand with nearly 40 outlets worldwide, including Seafood Bars at London's Heathrow airport, London Gatwick, London Stansted and Copenhagen Kastrup.
The Geneva-based company has become synonymous with the delicate ‘black pearl' of the sturgeon fish, the epitome of culinary luxury down the centuries. Its Asian entry via Hong Kong was done in partnership with SSP Hong Kong Ltd, the leading food and beverage operator at HKIA.
Perfect partnership
The partnership combines SSP's operational experience and knowledge of working in over 125 airports around the world, with Caviar House & Prunier's significant airport experience and unique concept, products, service and environment.
Pioneering fine gastronomy in airports, Caviar House & Prunier combines a unique, contemporary dining style with an exquisitely indulgent menu including its trademark fresh Prunier caviar and smoked Balik salmon.
At HKIA, signature dishes range from the Tsarina - caviar served with smoked salmon and toasted blinis – to classic Balik smoked salmon, seafood platters and salads, prawn cocktails, lobster, local sushi and sashimi specialties, and caviar ‘shots' with vodka or champagne. Complementing the menu is duck foie gras and traditional Spanish ham.
Managing Director of SSP Asia Pacific Daren Lau said Hong Kong seemed to be the first and natural choice for the launch of Caviar House & Prunier in Asia, due to the city's vast choice of luxury brands and potential customer base. The brand has a long history distributing caviar and Balik smoked salmon to the most prestigious and restaurants in Hong Kong as well as Cathay Pacific catering units, he added.
Major travel hub

Mr Lau says HKIA was a perfectly matched opportunity for both SSP and Caviar House & Prunier. "Our second Seafood Bar is due to open in August this year. Of course, if there are demands in the market, we will certainly want to tap into that demand too."
Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar is located airside in the Departures area of Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 1.
