Japanese group launches flagship amusement centre (02/05/2008)

Namco Enterprises Asia Ltd. of Namco Bandai Group from Japan recently opened their new flagship entertainment centre "Wonder Park Plus" at the World Trade Centre in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

This large-scale amusement facility features a wide range of popular Bandai Namco games to entertain customers of all ages. Games include 8 sets of the famous Japanese Bandai Namco game "Gundam Senjyo No Kizuna" and a new Asian version of the game "Taiko No Tatsujin 11".

Wonder Park Plus in Hong Kong, will be the first time some of these games have been available overseas. The total cost of the investment is approximately 130 million yen (US$1.26 million). Namco Enterprises Asia Ltd. expects one million customers to visit Wonder Park Plus in the first year generating an annual turnover of 400 million yen (US$4.18 million).

President of Namco Bandai Group, Takeo Takasu said, "Our vision is to become the world's most inspiring entertainment group, by delivering dreams, fun and inspiration to the global entertainment audience. Today's opening of our new flagship store in Hong Kong will go a long way to helping us achieve this goal."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong, Simon Galpin, said Hong Kong provides a ready market for the success of Wonder Park Plus. "Geographically located in the centre of Asia and at the gateway to Mainland China, Hong Kong is the most popular city destination in Asia. Last year over 28 million people visited Hong Kong, and coupled with the 6 million local residents provides a ready global market to ensure the success of Wonder Park Plus." Source: InvestHK
